Transformation

Great Early Ra’sing! How are each of you? I hope your summer was fun, relaxing, and everything you desired it to be. Let’s abundant the rising for ourselves and our family. May our work be our prayer for good intentions for ourselves and our family. May we continue to express gratitude for life, its another day to laugh, live, and do the things we wanted to do. So mote it be! Ase!

Here we are about to experience autumn 🍂 weather. I look forward to the leaves changing colors hence the post title “transformation”. Autumn brings on spiced cider, apple cinnamon aroma, pumpkin spice, and so much more. 😋 I’m excited. Are you excited? I hope so.

Tell me what do you think of transformation. Transformation can mean many things. It is more related to change for the better. You leave behind the old to embrace the new. The four seasons (spring, summer, autumn, winter) is a perfect example of transformation. Sometimes we don’t realize we went through a transformation whereas we do recognize it.

I come to share with you that transformation is normal and apart of life. Think of the journey of the caterpillar to a butterfly. Beautiful transformation right? We as humans are always transforming. And we have our reasons for doing so. Don’t feel guilty for changing for the better especially when people tried to belittle you. Remember what they do and say to you has nothing to do with you. It has everything to do with them and whatever they’re struggling with. So don’t take things personally nor make any assumptions.

During my transformation over the summer, I noticed I don’t have any tolerance for people who trauma bond. Why? Because I’m not in that same mental space anymore. In other words I no longer have conversations about what’s going wrong in my life nor I talk about the past. When you complain about life and/or talking about the past, you are replaying the events over for it to happen again in your life. The only time you should bring up the past is to share what it has taught you.

I don’t allow anyone to tell me I’m resilient because of the struggles I went through in life. Suffering/struggling are not normal yet the society as a whole accepted it as normal. That’s a topic for another day. Anyhow you really see things for what it is. This blog platform needs a new name. Why, because I’m no longer in that mental space to address growing pains. Right now I’m just thriving in my element which is teaching sign language to the community. It’s what I love to do and it’s my passion.

With all that being said ask yourself do you need to undergo a surgery of transformation. Do you need to let go of the fear and embrace your true self? It is true when you go through the transformation you will no longer tolerate things and conversations you once did. You’ll look at things from a different angle in other words see things for what it is. Be overall be proud of yourself for taking the initiative to better YOU! Congratulate Yourself

It is definitely a late night post. I assume many are resting and won’t read the post until the rising. So with that being said, let’s abundant the rising for us all. May we abundant the rising for ourselves and our family. May our work and intentions be our prayer for good. May we continue to express gratitude for life that is the richest gift given to us each day. May we appreciate the opportunity to smile, laugh, heal, etc on another day. Love and light.

How often do you congratulate yourself? How often do you tell yourself you’re “proud of you” for every accomplishments? Ask yourself when was the last time you actually pat yourself on the back without anyone’s input. These are serious questions to ask yourself. Can you live life without the approval and validation from society? If the answer is no, then it’s because of your ego. Ego feeds on the approval and validation from society. Why? Because of fear. What is it that you fear?

Most of the time to get what we desire is usually on the other side of fear. Keep in mind, fear is an illusion in other words thinking of something that doesn’t exist. The only way it will exist is if we keep thinking about the fear. At some point you have to face it in order to get what you desired. Address your fears so you can truly be yourself without any regrets. Look at fear as a way to help you reach your highest potentials.

I’m going to use this moment to congratulate myself and I want you to do the same for yourself. I congratulate myself for surviving foster care. I’m so proud of myself for walking away from toxic relationships to put myself first. Self care is top tier and non-negotiable. I congratulate myself for digging deep within to actually find myself and my passion. I am honored to be gifted with a talent to teach a life skill (sign language). I’m so proud to keep stepping outside of my comfort zone as I continue to grow and elevate. Most importantly I am beyond proud to step outside of survival mode in order for me to walk into my thriving mode. I no longer address myself as resilient, because I am exhausted from strength alone and I don’t want to attract anymore struggles. Be careful of how you talk and label yourself, because you can attract things even when you don’t mean it.

The more you congratulate yourself, the more you are expressing gratitude. Remember you are the author of your story. Every chapter documents your journey of progression. So with that being said, take time with yourself and congratulate yourself. Be carefree and live life in the present moment. That’s all that matters. Until next time, Love and light.

Finally Free!

Happy Sunday Readers!! I figured I check in before the summer is over. Vacation with my children is almost coming to an end. I’ll be back to blogging full time. Trust me, I do miss blogging and interacting with my readers.

So tell me my readers, how is your summer going? Was you able to take a vacation as well? Are you enjoying the heat and the rain that brings the breeze? I hope your summer is fulfilling. Be sure to make each day count. Always be grateful for the present which is a gift to us to be thankful for life.

I’ve been teaching sign language at a local library for over a month. Tomorrow will be the final class which is game day. I’m truly excited about game day. I’m beyond proud of myself for teaching sign language. It’s a very important skill to have. It is honestly a life skill and I’m honored to teach it to a community that wants to learn.

For so many years I’ve been looking for my passion. I had so many ideas I wanted to fulfilled, but they weren’t my passion. What was the point of fulfilling something that isn’t your passion? I’ve fulfilled so much, but they didn’t fulfill me like I wanted it to. It didn’t motivate me to continue with the project after it was already completed. Don’t get me wrong it was rewarding and I loved seeing the change/difference it created in someone’s life for the better. But something was missing.

I knew I was supposed to go back to being a motivational speaker, but something was missing. I couldn’t figure it out for the life of me. Then just one day, my hearing was working my nerves. I was experiencing an inflammation in my right ear. The doctor couldn’t figure out what it was. It was nerving. I was tired of taking steroids to slow down the inflammation. I didn’t want to accept the fact I would be losing more of my hearing.

Oh no, I was in straight denial. I was clinging onto wanting to hear my old music, and many sounds that were like a lullaby to my ears. I didn’t bother to take the time out to ask what was my current situation trying to teach me. I was being stubborn and I didn’t want to be bothered with the hearing community because they wouldn’t understand.

After all the crying, I had to force myself to dig deep within. I had to ask myself what was my progressive hearing loss was trying to teach me. I learned it was because of my stubbornness due to so many rejections I’ve faced in this life. And it’s what caused me to be isolated. It made me understood why the deaf community choose to isolate themselves from the hearing community. Yes, they’re stubborn, because they don’t want to face anymore rejections. They’ve had enough. People don’t want to see us for us!

After much thought, I decided to teach sign language to the hearing community. I’m dedicated to bringing awareness about hearing loss and how to better communicate. I had to travel back to my root in which I knew sign language since I was 3 years old. As I sat with my memories as they make their way back to me subconsciously, my family didn’t sign with me. They didn’t take the time to learn sign language. And because of that, I share with my students about the importance of teaching their children sign language. Fostering communication at an early age have many benefits. It increases a child’s vocabularies which increases their reading level. Babies can communicate as early as five months old through sign language. Why wait until your child is 11 months old or older to say their first word. Be proactive in their communication skills. It’ll pay off in the long run.

I’ve now found my passion which is teaching sign language and speaking in sign language. Sometimes you have to go back to your root to find your passion. And sometimes a life and/or health situation have to transpire to get your attention. Now all those ideas I had, I can now incorporate it with sign language. I have sign language game night coming up at the WestSide Tilth Farm. Sign language yoga is in the works. Best part is I’ve been including the hearing community. It’s all about being inclusive which is acceptance all across the board. I’m glad people are reaching out to me to learn this important life skill.

So with that being said, if you’re in a rough spot, ask yourself what is the situation trying to teach you. Humble yourself and take some quiet time for yourself to allow the message to come to you. It may not come right away, but it will when you are ready to receive. Love and light. I’ll be writing again sooner than you know.

Checking In

Great Ra’sing Readers!! How are you? How is your week going so far? I hope you are well and your week is going great. Let’s abundant our rising before we dive deep into the post. May we abundant our rising for ourselves and our family. May our work and intentions be our prayer for good for ourselves and our family. May we continue to express gratitude for life. It’s another day to live, smile, be happy, laughing, and to do whatever it is we want to do. So mote it be!

Today is a great day! Make sure you are setting your intentions for the day before getting out the bed. If you find yourself complaining and/or saying “I got to do this, I got to do that”, stop yourself, take a deep breath and count to 20 backwards. Once done say out loud, “I get to walk. I get to see. I get to touch and feel things. I get to drive to my vehicle.” Changing “got” to “get” is a game changer. When you’re constantly saying I got to do this and that, you’re causing unnecessary stress on yourself. But if you say I get to do this and that, you’re showing appreciation. You’re expressing gratitude.

My children and I are still enjoying the summer vacation. I teach sign language (Signing as Art) on Mondays at a library. I taught my first class on July 11th. It was amazing and interactive. It felt good to teach about my community. Everyone should learn basic sign language. I’ve taught my class to not look at sign language as another language. They are encouraged to look at it as art 🎨 Why? Because the movement of the hand creates art. It’s a beautiful thing.

I’ve been stepping outside of my comfort zone such as doing a motivational video on YouTube. That was a different experience. You can click on my channel, Kamil Gerald. How’s the season going for you? Are yall stepping outside of yall comfort zone to foster personal growth? Keep in mind, things don’t change for us if we continue to stay in our comfort zone. Stepping outside of that zone is where alot of things happen for you. To avoid and break out of stagnation is through action. It can be simple as rearranging your apartment, sorting through your closet to give things away, creating a scrapbook or going outside to enjoy nature. Let Your Body Heal!

Great Monday Readers! Today is a great day to be and feel great! How was everyone’s weekend? I hope it was amazing. It’s prom and graduation season. I feel like it’s the best time of the year to acknowledge the hard work and accomplishments in front of many.

Let’s abundant our day for ourselves and our family. May our work and intentions be our prayer for good for ourselves and our family. May we continue to express gratitude for our life and all it have to offer. It’s another day to laugh, smile, heal, celebrate, etc. ASE!

Did you know that the body has the ability to heal itself if in the right environment? Meaning that you feed your body healthy food, exercise, intermittent fasting, etc. The body is capable of doing wonder without the need for any medication. Medication prolongs the body’s healing process to get rid of whatever that doesn’t belong in the body.

We’re always told that we have to eat something when we’re not feeling well. And we would force ourselves to eat and we’re not hungry. That’s unhealthy. While we’re sick, we need to let the body do it’s job in healing itself. During our illness it’s a time for fasting. Listen to your body. It’ll let you know when you should consume nutrients.

Obesity is a major issue in several countries. People has become so consumed with the need to eat three times a day with snacks in between. Many eat to just be eating without any hunger. Many overeat due to depression amongst other reasons. Why overload your body? It’s important to address the reasons behind overeating. Overeating is a mindset that is possible to eliminate.

Also you can experience ailments within your body. Sometimes ailments are caused by some things we’re struggling with internally. It’s not healthy to keep things inside of you especially if it’s eating you alive. It’s reason why stress is labeled as the silent killer. Keep your body in a positive state so it can heal effectively.

Health is wealth! Keep yourself healthy and your body will reward you immensely. It’s a great feeling not to rely on medications. But there are medications that helps assist the body to heal, but it shouldn’t be continuous. There are plenty of herbs that have the same effects as medication but more powerful and effective. Research different herbs such as rosemary, basil, bay leaves, etc.

I truly thank you readers for the support. This is a busy time of the year with my children. I’ll be taking a break from blogging beginning tomorrow until early September when my children returns to school. However, I’ll check in to do a blog post when I have a message to share. Toxic Relationships

Great Ra’sing! How’s everyone doing? It’s Friday and I’m sure many of you are looking forward to the weekend to rest. Let’s abundant our day for ourselves and our family. May our work and intentions be our prayer for good for ourselves and our family. May we continue to express gratitude for life and all the things it have to offer. Love and light! Now list five to ten things you are grateful for.

Let’s talk about toxic relationships. Most people associate toxic relationships with people they interact with. But have you thought about the relationship with yourself? Interesting question right? Everyone should have a relationship with themselves.

Can we all agree that in order for life to be meaningful, we must let go of toxic relationships we have with people? We all have some family members, friends, associates who are toxic. But it doesn’t necessarily mean we have to tolerate the dysfunction. You have to do what’s best for you and your mental health.

Now let’s address the toxic relationships we have with ourselves. This may be an uncomfortable topic for some, but hey you have to face the truth one way or the other. The truth is not always easy to digest, but it does set you free. Toxic relationships with yourself looks like this; calling yourself names (bullying), self doubt, self sabotaging behaviors, insecurities, drugging, abusing alcohol, binge eating, etc.

Whatever your toxic relationship is, address it then ask yourself what was the reason behind the relationship. Then work on a solution to that reason. Maybe the solution is therapy to help you set good habits with yourself. For example I used to binge eating years back. Sometimes I would eat just to be eating and I’m not even hungry. When it came time to address it, I realized it was my coping mechanism to deal with stress. I also realized I was in a trauma mindset, because I was starved as a young girl in foster care. It took me some time to change my relationship for the better with food.

I leave this message with you to release toxic relationships within yourself. How you perceive yourself is how people will perceive you. Always remember to take care of yourself first before anyone, because you need YOU! No one is going to have your back like you have for yourself! Have a great weekend! Love and light!

Rain Rain go away, but I think I want you to stay!

Great Afternoon Readers! I’m here today to do another blog post while it’s raining outside. Let’s abundant our day for ourselves and our family. May our work and intentions be our prayer for good for ourselves and our family. May we continue to be grateful for life and the things it have to offer. So mote it be!

How’s the weather I’m your town? Are you getting some sunshine or is it snowing? It’s raining in my town and I usually feel sluggish. It’s odd how the weather can affect our moods. Our bodies just be going with the flow of Mother Earth. Sometimes it’s a good thing whereas it’s not a good thing.

Although I’m a fire sign, water is my favorite element. It keeps me calm and at peace. Sometimes it’s my reminder to take a step back and just breathe knowing everything will be okay. Whenever I feel myself getting angry and/or frustrated I have to get access to water quickly. Water will extinguish the flame within me quickly to prevent myself from exploding like a rocket.

In society people would mimic rain as a form of depression. It’s like Mother Earth is crying and I should cry too. What if Mother Earth is not crying tears of sadness, instead she’s crying tears of joy to bring forth more life. Rain (water) brings life to fruition. Several examples of life needing water; humans, plants, animals, etc. Water is a living element and many did not know that.

So with that saying about water being a living element that brings life, enjoy the rain. Go outside and get wet. Let the rain penetrate your skin as it soothes you. Twirl in circles, smile, laugh with your hands in the air thanking Mother Earth for rain. There may be some days in which you’ll have to be the water/rain sharing your wisdom with others in their journey. Love and light!

Be The Light!

How was your weekend readers? I hope it was good. My weekend was very busy. I rearranged my whole apartment, had a porch sale, etc. It felt so good to do something constructive. Anytime you feel stagnant or constricted, try to do something constructive that will keep you occupied and moving.

Today’s topic is about being the light. With so much going on in the world, we need light. Being the light wherever is smiling, sharing your good energy, positive spirit and all. It makes the world a better place. Spreading light is contagious and I love it. I want to be able to leave a legacy behind of I always being and sharing the light.

Freely Friday will be about just freeing yourself. For some this week might’ve been heavy or for others it might’ve been good. But let’s take today to just be FREE! Although being FREE should be an everyday thing, but for some there is a need for a reminder. And that reminder is to be our authentic selves.

With so much going on in life, we tend to forget to be in the moment. We forget to be our authentic self, because we’re so caught up with chaotic of life. Life circumstances would cause us to feel withdrawn, reserved, etc. But we failed to realize that life is the greatest teacher. It’s all about navigating through life and understanding yourself during the journey.

As the saying goes, “you’re not living life until people’s opinions of you no longer matters to you.” Be free and feel what life have to offer you. If that’s difficult to do, then think of 5-10 things to be grateful for. You’ll see life had a lot to offer and has given you. Dancing around your apartment with some music playing. Have the windows open letting in the light to increase your energy. Do whatever makes you feel free. Remember it starts from within and it doesn’t require you to have money. Energy is everything and it’s the true wealth. Have a phenomenal weekend! Love and light!

Happy June 1st!

Great Ra’sing Readers! How was everyone’s weekend and holiday? I hope it was relaxing and enjoyable. Mines was very long amid the traveling. I was exhausted. Today I’m energized and ready to get back in my routine.

Summer is almost approaching in June. It’s prom season as well as graduation season. Both of my daughters are graduating this month. My oldest son is turning 20 years young this month. My youngest son will be home this month. Like wow where has the time gone. I’m truly grateful for all my blessings. Being a mother of four children is hard work, yet rewarding. I look forward to us relaxing and traveling. Family time is so important.

Use this day to reflect on your blessings. It’s much to be thankful for. Always follow your heart and stand up for what is right. Be your own individual person, it’s what makes you so unique.
